What are the main schools of Taoism? What is the difference between Quanzhen and Zhengyi?

I want to understand the main branches of Taoism. I've heard there are two major branches: Quanzhen and Zhengyi. What are their differences? What other important schools exist historically?

Historically, there were also Taiping Dao, Wudoumi Dao, Shangqing (Maoshan), Lingbao, Jingming, Taiyi schools. The Shangqing school, known for visualization and meditation practices centered on Maoshan, has been particularly influential.

The two main branches: Quanzhen (Complete Perfection) — founded by Wang Chongyang in the Jin Dynasty, focuses on internal alchemy, promotes unity of three teachings (Taoism, Buddhism, Confucianism). Monks live in temples, are vegetarian, and celibate. Main temple: White Cloud Temple in Beijing. Zhengyi (Orthodox Unity) — founded by Zhang Daoling in Eastern Han, focuses on talismans and rituals (fulu zhaijiao), priests can live at home, marry, and eat meat. Main temple: Celestial Master Mansion on Longhu Mountain, Jiangxi.
